Newport, KY – February 09, 2007 – Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals, Inc., today announced the appointment of Mr. Rolf A. Classon to the position of Chairman of Xanodyne’s Board of Directors. This appointment was effective at Xanodyne’s December Board Meeting.

Mr. Classon has extensive experience, having worked in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries in a variety of roles for approximately 30 years. A native of Sweden, Mr. Classon began his career with Pharmacia AB as Director of Organization Development. He subsequently served in several top executive roles, including positions as President of Pharmacia AB Hospital Products Division, President of Pharmacia Development Company, Inc., President and COO of Pharmacia Biosystems AB, President of Bayer Diagnostics and then Chairman of the Executive Committee for Bayer Healthcare, from which he retired in 2004. Most recently, Mr. Classon was with Hillenbrand Industries as Interim President and CEO, and is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors for Hillenbrand. He also serves as a board member for Enzon Pharmaceuticals and Millipore Corporation.

In commenting on the announcement, Xanodyne’s CEO, William Nuerge noted that "Mr. Classon’s experience will be a great asset to Xanodyne’s Board and management team, particularly given his experience with public companies". Mr. Classon will be replacing Dr. Jim Cavanaugh as Chairman, although Dr. Cavanaugh will remain with Xanodyne as a Board member. In speaking of Dr. Cavanaugh, Mr. Classon stated, "I join with many others at Xanodyne in thanking Dr. Cavanaugh for his service to the Company as Chairman. We are grateful that he will remain on the Board to share his vision and leadership."
